The Beer Plant

Published | Posted by Sonia Comisarenco

The Beer Plant is one of my favorite restaurants. I was excited this past weekend to take one of my friends, who was visiting from out of state, to enjoy some delicious vegan dishes at Austin’s “first vegan gastropub”.

To start out meal, we ordered the buffalo cauliflower wings. The cauliflower wings were fried, crispy and covered with a spicy and tangy buffalo sauce, served with a vegan bleu cheese dip that tasted rich just like the real thing but was lighter. Totally scrumptious!

For our main course we both ordered the Nashville Hot & Crispy. This was a sandwich made with battered king oyster mushrooms, pickled celery and purple cabbage with remoulade, served on a pretzel bread bun and accompanied by fries.

It was spicy and tasty, a definite winner.

I've tried a few dishes at The Beer Plant and I can say they never disappoint. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.

Be healthy, be happy.
